Lecture: Metadata and Their Applications to Resources

2005-10-27 12:30

The Greater Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Chinese American Librarians Association (GMA/CALA) is pleased to announce its 2005 Fall Program and annual meeting to be held in the Whittall Pavilion, Library of Congress on Oct. 27, from 1:30 to 4:30 PM, followed by a dinner at 5 PM. This Program is co-sponsored by the Asian Division of the Library of Congress.

The speaker, Sally C. Tseng, CALA Executive Director, will present a lecture in Chinese on the topic of "Metadata and Their Applications to Resources" -- a "hot" subject that has been talked about and very much focused among librarians at all levels today. We are fortunate to have
Sally, who chaired the ALA/ALCTS 2000-2003 Metadata Pre-conferences and Regional Institutes on AACR2 and Metadata, a pioneer in this field to introduce this important topic to us.

You are cordially invited to attend this much anticipating free lecture. We
hope all interested Chinese American librarians do not miss this opportunity to hear the most important topic in current resources access environment.

Please RSVP for the lecture by Oct. 20, 2005.
Dinner location: Hunan Dynasty, 215 Pennsylvania Ave., SE, Washington, DC
Dinner cost: $15.00 per person (non-CALA member), $12.00 for CALA members
