The Library of Congress Asian Literature Club invites the public to discuss Asian literature among friends and to become more acquainted with the Asian Division’s collections. While its sessions are usually moderated by local experts, the club emphasizes the readers’ experiences in reading the book, instead of literary theory.

At our next meeting we will discuss Shen Fu’s "Six Records from a Floating Life."

Date and time: Thursday November 2, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.

Location: Asian Division Conference Room, LJ-150, Jefferson Building located at 10 First Street SE directly across from the Capitol Building, near the Capitol South metro station.

Enter through the S.E. door located at the back of the Jefferson Building. Follow direction signs to the Asian Division Conference Room.

The meeting will be preceded by a brief presentation about the Chinese holdings at the Library of Congress made by a China library specialist.

Dr. Andrea Goldman, Assistant Professor of the History Department, University of Maryland, College Park, will be the moderator of this session.
